I don't have any pics available this time, but I wanted to let you all know that the kickstarter for the new Bones 3 campaign has started. This will be the third installment of various bones for the guys at Reaper. It is very interesting as they have already unveiled three different dragons, with rumors that a version of Tiamat and Bahamut are in the works. I will be closely watching this as it progresses. In other news I have broke down and already used up two of the jokers from this challenge. One on some new models at Kingdom Death and the other will of course be the Bones 3 kickstarter going on now. Hopefully I can get some more stuff finished before the weekend is through.

So as much as I wanted to keep up with posting every week, things just did not work out that way. I have managed to finish off the last of my rats though. This puts my full rat army at between 48 and 60 rats altogether. The ones I have here in the photo are frost rats. Chilling effects against PCs. Heh. In other news I finished my second version of Rex. I think the purple skin suits this one really well. not sure whether I like the spikes on his club, but for now the model looks good enough to be considered finished. I also have all of the kobold pillar spawners finished. I like the lava effect in the runes and the way that those stones tend to stand out from the darker stone. Until next time guys enjoy painting.
So as we know I have issues posting on a regular basis and have an addiction to painting/collecting miniatures. I heard about this group on facebook and looked them up. Apparently they are a bunch of great folk looking to help motivate each other to decrease the insane mountains of figures that we have by painting them up. This is my official post saying that I will be trying to keep up with the group and will be keeping an eye on my own progress to figure out how much I can get done in a six month period. For the official rules you can find them here.
As for my own personal goals well I want to get as much of SDE done as possible. That is going to be the first project. I am going to break up the SDE into 3 separate sets. The first set is going to be the red figures, then we will get to the purple, and finish with the green. Heroes and the creeps, like slimes will be managed afterwards. Moving on from that I may do some small stuff in between working on SDE to break up the monotony and not leave myself apathetic to this process. If for some reason I do manage to finish off my sets I will probably move on to zombicide or relic knights. Yes as we know from the last few posts I have a few models already done from the red set and those will be shown at the end when all of the full red set has been completed. Thanks for looking everyone. As the title says I am bringing you some more SDE stuff today. I absolutely love the way the mimics turned out and Rex's weapon is great. Though I couldn't figure out how to get TMM properly I still think it all looks good. I am glad that it turned out decent and think that for the second version of Rex I will go with red or blue skin instead of green.
One of the many Giants I am currently working on. This one will have a hammer and shield. Probably the stitched leather shield shown below. I really like the way his beard has turned out so far. Hopefully the paint will look amazing when I get to that point. Have a lot of work to do before we get that far though. Below you can see the beginnings of a rat army there are about 48 rats altogether. 16 of each color. I still need to finish the blue rats, but think that this little side project is going together rather well. Now if we can manage to finish off those last few rat and construct a pied piper to go along with them I might have a new idea for the next plot hook in pathfinder...
So now that we are a bit back in the schedule. I have some photos to share. I finished up some kobolds for Super Dungeon Explore. Now that Forgotten King is out I am going to be going crazy painting all the base creatures so that we can start on the new stuff. This is going to be great! I cant wait to try out the new single-player options in Forgotten King.
So sorry that I have not been able to get some more pics up. We recently had a problem with our water heater breaking. Hopefully this will be fixed soonish. Saturday I am hoping. The water heater happens to be on the opposite side of the wall from my painting station and is just causing me headaches at the moment. I will be getting back to painting on a more normal basis once it is fixed. So many projects to finish up and work on. Once I have some more details I will be updating everyone.
I actually found these minis to be increasinly difficult to paint up due to their size. It required me to change from my standard size brushes, about a size 2 brush, down to a size 10 brush just to get all of the tiny details in the right places. I am really happy with the results, although looking at candy there are a few things I could still work on... It was frustrating to get everything working, but well worth the effort. also on a side note while the desperate merc and candy as one form the baby kade comes in 3 pieces. He does not glue together very well, I ended up pinning him together in the end just to make sure he would not fall apart. Frustrating, but very well worth it. Now if only I had a game to use these in....
I am not going to make excuses for not posting more often, because I know that it is entirely on me to work this whole scheduling things out. I will however bring with me several pictures on what has been going on around here. Lots of things actually have not been getting done the way I have wanted them done, but hopefully the next few pictures will help out. I realize that it doesn't look like a whole lot was done, but it did take a while for me to get these things painted. I am hopeful that progress will keep moving forward at a good pace so that some of these other projects will get done eventually this year. Cheers and thanks for glancing in here!
